The ‘Friends’ is the Parent/Teacher Association for Croughton All Saints school. It is registered with the National Council of PTA’s. The Association exists to raise money towards all those little or large extras which help to make the school special for our children, and which are often not affordable out of the normal operating budget allocated to the school.
We raise money by running events for the children, for parents, the village, and the general public, trying to attract support from as wide a base as possible. As well as using the funds raised for school equipment, we pay for visitors to stage plays and pantomimes, we organise a Christmas lunch for the school, buy sports and play equipment, hymn books, etc. In the last academic year we raised over £3000.
Sounds great? Yes it is, but the ‘Friends’ only exists if there are enthusiastic members with a little time available to share the organisation of events. Anyone with children at the school is automatically a member of the Friends and anyone who supports the school can be a member.
So, would you like to be involved in fundraising for the school and in making it even better for our children? Then please come along to the next meeting to find out more. The more people who are actively involved, the less work it is for everyone and the more fun we can have!
What is the commitment? Well, as much or as little time and ingenuity as you have available. We meet about once a month, for a friendly sociable couple of evening hours, usually at one of our houses, where we plan events and share out tasks to make sure all runs smoothly.
